CPYC Member Jay Bond hosted a Private Fundraiser to raise money for ELF (Everybody Loves Families), an all volunteer charitable not-for-profit which gives holiday gifts to children who are wards of the state or who are in transitional living situations. CPYC members were invited to attend.
The party was billed as a “Sock Hop” and guests were encouraged to wear “Nifty Fifties attire”. In the background, Jay was running the movie “Grease” on a large screen, so everyone got into the spirit!
Swing dance lessons were given and everyone had a terrific time. Apparently, some of the attendees belong to a local Swing Dance Club and boy, could they dance!
In addition to the door fee, funds were raised through a silent auction and a raffle.
Jay says that the event was a success and vows to repeat it next year to an even bigger crowd!
