Beer Can Etiquette

First, I want to thank everyone who has been coming out on the beer can races the past few weeks. This past week we overflowed the Regatta Room AND the deck! Craig, Larry, Linea and Phyliss are doing a wonderful job keeping us fed and happy!

We’ve had a great mix of old guard and newbies. Beer Cans are open to everyone ( even stink-potters). So come join us! So far we haven’t lost anyone and we would like to keep it that way.

For those of you who are coming out PLEASE make it to West Marine and take responsibility for your own comfort and safety, meaning:

Participants are expected to bring:

–  Non-marking boat shoes – sneakers don’t grip well, black soles make boaters very grumpy!
–  Something warm if it gets wet – Foul weather jacket recommended.
–  PFD – Life Jacket, YOU are responsible for your safety onboard.
–  Sailing Gloves – if you’re pulling on lines these prevent rope burns, been there!

We love your enthusiasm but please come prepared to go out on the water. We want to bring everyone back in the same condition they left the dock!

Happy Sailing,

Jim Manishin
